TheCommunity,Music Organisations,Community,Music Organisations,Community,Music Organisations,Community,Music Organisations, Funding remains very modest" at $675 000 but will be targeted primarily at assisting radio promotions in Australia and via the College Music Journal into the American alternative scene says Wrightson. She said the industry had asked for more help securing air-time in Australia. "Some four or five years ago it would have been a reasonable assumption to say Australia will look after itself but now the music sector as we know it is changing remarkably it seems that we should be providing a bit more assistance." NZ On Air's Mike McClung is focused on helping bands attend the College Music Journal (CMJ) "music marathon" in New York in October. "Part of our strategy is to get more New Zealand music played on college radio in America - it's a good grassroots place to try and enter the radio market there because the reality of getting your songs played on commercial stations over there are that it costs a hell of a lot of money - a lot more money than we've got " McClung said. On its hugely popular website network CMJ has also begun to list the charts of New Zealand's own grassroots university stations. Story c/o "
